The Knot Best of Weddings Reviews: 2021 Wrap
We love being a part of The Knot community, so to start off the New Year of 2022, we would like to express our appreciation for our amazing couples, clients, and fellow vendors who got us through 2021.
We were able to be a part of some incredible events and create amazing memories. The enthusiasm from both vendors and clients helps continue doing what we love doing, and helps boost us into The Knot Hall of Fame (!!) We feel incredibly lucky to kick off the New Year with a pep in our step and hope for many love stories ahead! With that spirit, we’d like to share some of our favorite reviews from the past year.
Island Kings were amazing!!! They truly made our night incredible. They took our requests, kept up a great vibe, and really made the sentimental moments feel that way, and the party moments to feel that way as well! 10/10 would hire again.

I am so grateful to the Island Kings – they were quick to respond to any concerns I had, worked with the venue to make sure everything went smoothly, and not least of all, sounded amazing! All of the professionalism, and awesome sound you hope for, while coming in at the last minute when the other group we had booked had to cancel a week before! I really recommend these folks.

Planning a destination event across the ocean with unknown vendors – in fact, it is pretty scary. But this was a real highlight and so easy. We held a beautiful wedding on the Big Island (after obtaining the proper exemptions from officials). This was our THIRD try, after two postponements due to travel restrictions. I have to say that our producer was SO accommodating with our rescheduling, changes in number of band members, and so many things we didn’t think of like speakers for officiant, rental stage size, set up of recorded music for processional, first dance, father-daughter dance, etc. And the band itself!! We added the saxophone, which I highly recommend if you can. The dance floor was full until people had to be dragged off to the shuttles. And SO many wonderful comments from our guests about how great the music was. This really made the celebration a night to remember. I recommend Island Kings Band without hesitation. The entire experience with them was flawless and delightful!

I don’t know where to start without crying! Due to ridiculous covid rules/restrictions we were forced to cancel our band a mere 2 weeks before our Hawaiian wedding. My mom couldn’t stand it and when she arrived on island a week before our wedding, she worked with our planner to get a new band lined up to surprise me and my husband. Enter our producer with Island Kings. He worked in overdrive with my mom to arrange all of the details to get the band from Oahu to Hawaii Island in time for the wedding. When I was waiting to be announced outside with my husband and I heard the sax and drums, I screamed, locked eyes with my mom and I ugly cried. The band was my #1 must have and to give it up devastated me. To hear that band fire up and get the party started, even with the dumb rules, it was the cherry on top of an absolutely perfect day. They were so wonderful to work with, this band was nothing short of EPIC, fun and professional and engaging. They joked that their usual priority is to ensure everyone is dancing and at our wedding they had to tone down their playlist to ensure nobody would dance. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their music and they even managed to have all 3 songs memorized for our first dance, father and mother dances. This is a moment I will never forget and I cannot thank the Island Kings enough!

Island Kings Band were EXCEPTIONAL. From start to finish they were communicative, flexible, and amazing performers. It was important to me that there was a special dance during the reception that was a surprise for my partner. Our producer was very responsive during the planning process for this and we were able to make the necessary changes to the timeline to allow for this dance. And in the end he was very surprised, which was great! The music played during dinner was amazing – my husband even noted that he thought the music was pre-recorded at first until he saw that it was played live. And EVERYONE loved the band during the reception. High energy, amazingly talented, great music – perfect. If you are looking for a band for your wedding, I highly recommend Island Kings. Would definitely hire them again!
